Perennial herb. Stems many, prostrate, rooting at nodes, 20-40 cm, slender, villous. Leaves distichous; petioles 2-4 mm long, villous; leaf blade nearly circular, 1.3-1.7 cm x 1.2-1.4 cm, glabrous or pilose abaxially, base cordate to rounded, apex rounded or emarginate, lateral veins 2-3 pairs. Inflorescence axillary cymose, flowers 1-3; peduncle very short or absent. Pedicels 2.5-5 mm, densely villous. Flowers campanulate, +/- actinomorphic, bisexual, 5-merous, hypogynous, white, small. Sepals 5, free, persistent, oblong-ovate to oblong, 3-4 mm x 2-3 mm, outer 2 slightly longer than inner ones, pilose abaxially, margin ciliate. Corolla broadly campanulate or subrotate, ca. 6 mm long; tube ca. 2 mm long; limb 7-8 mm in diameter, 5-lobed, lobes emarginate, midpetaline bands pilose outside. Stamens 5, exserted, inserted at middle of corolla tube; filaments 1.5-2 mm long, glabrous; anthers oblong to ovate, ca. 0.7 mm long, basifixed. Carpels 2, syncarpous; ovary globose, ca. 1 mm x 1 mm, 2-locular, 2 ovules per loculus; styles 2, free, each deeply bifid, style branches linear, 3-4 mm long; stigmas minutely capitate. Capsules ovoid to globose, 3-4 mm in diameter, 4-lobed. Seeds 2-4, brown, ovoid-trigonous, ca. 2.5 mm x 2.0 mm, minutely tuberculate.
